Mormonism and Why it is Wrong

Mormonism includes many other unusual teachings which you will probably not be told about until you have been in the church for a long time. These teachings are not revealed to investigators or new converts because those people are not yet considered ready to have more than "milk" as doctrine. The Mormons also probably realize that if investigators knew of these unusual teachings they would not join the church. In addition to those mentioned elsewhere in this article, the following are noteworthy:
  • God was once a man like us.
God is I AM. He exists apart from time and space and has always
existed in the eternal realm. He was never a man, but took on human flesh
as His Son Jesus to atone for our sins and set us free.
  • God has a tangible body of flesh and bone.
He exists in eternity and only as Jesus did He take on a flesh and blood form. He is eternal and without form except in glory.
  • God lives on a planet near the star Kolob.
He exists apart from time and space and has always existed in the eternal realm.
  • God ("Heavenly Father") has at least one wife, our "Mother in Heaven," but she is so holy that we are not to discuss her nor pray to her.
This is such a fabrication and only is held so that they can
validate their belief that they will all become God’s and rule
over their universe and must have a wife to populate their new
world. God is self existent and needs nothing else.
  • Jesus was married.
NEVER! His bride is the church and only when He comes to
take her home will He be wed to us.
  • We can become like God and rule over our own universe.
This sounds a lot like the original lie that Satan told Adam and
Eve, and which brought about sin and death. It is a lie! They
will never be Gods and they will not rule over anything.
  • There are many gods, ruling over their own worlds.
There is only one God and His name is Yahweh - I AM!
  • Jesus and Satan ("Lucifer") are brothers, and they are our brothers - we are all spirit children of Heavenly Father
Jesus is not a brother of Satan. He is God and the one who
kicked Him out of heaven for claiming to be like God.

  • Jesus Christ was conceived by God the Father by having sex with Mary, who was temporarily his wife.
Jesus was conceived by immaculate conception. It was a
miracle wrought by the Holy Spirit.
  • We should not pray to Jesus, nor try to feel a personal relationship with him.
We owe everything to Jesus and we should always pray to Him
and His Father as our God and creator. He died on a cross for the very
reason of having a relationship with Him.
  • The "Lord" ("Jehovah") in the Old Testament is the being named Jesus in the New Testament, but different from "God the Father" ("Elohim").
Jesus is the Second person of the Trinity and is Fully God.
  • In the highest degree of the celestial kingdom some men will have more than one wife.
There is no giving or taking in marriage in heaven.
  • Before coming to this earth we lived as spirits in a "pre-existence", during which we were tested; our position in this life (whether born to Mormons or savages, or in America or Africa) is our reward or punishment for our obedience in that life.
We were created by God out of dust from the ground - the earth
              that God created.
  • Dark skin is a curse from God, the result of our sin, or the sin of our ancestors. If sufficiently righteous, a dark-skinned person will become light-skinned.
God created all men and women of all races and colors and we
are all His creation and He died for all of us to make a place for
us in His kingdom. Dark skin is not a curse.
  • The Garden of Eden was in Missouri. All humanity before the Great Flood lived in the western hemisphere. The Ark transported Noah and the other survivors to the eastern hemisphere.
This is a total fabrication to further their lie that they have the
true religion. Scripture is very clear that the Garden was in the
               vicinity of the Middle East.
  • Not only will human beings be resurrected to eternal life, but also all animals - everything that has ever lived on earth - will be resurrected and dwell in heaven.
Nice idea but nothing in Scripture validates this belief. Only
we who are true believers in Jesus will be resurrected.
  • Christ will not return to earth in any year that has seen a rainbow.
Where do they get this? No one knows when He will return and
He can come anytime the Father decides.
  • Mormons should avoid traveling on water, since Satan rules the waters.
Satan rules nothing! He has no power except what we give him.
  • The sun receives its light from the star Kolob.
The sun is it’s own star and exists because God made it to exist
and send it’s warmth and light to earth.
  • If a Gentile becomes Mormon, the Holy Ghost actually purges his Gentile blood and replaces it with Israelite blood.
Our faith in the true God and His Son Jesus allows us to stand
together with the Jews as God’s chosen People.
  • A righteous Mormon will actually see the face of God in the Mormon temple.
No one can see God without dying. His glory is overwhelming
and we cannot see Him until we receive our new bodies in
Heaven when we will be able to abide His presence.
  • You can identify a false angel by the color of his hair, or by offering to shake his hand.
If you see and angel it is only because God would allow us to
see Him and God does not send false angels.
(The angels Joseph Smith saw were false because they led him to
believe in someone other than the true God and His only Son - Jesus
the Christ. Joseph Smith was a Con man and  deceived by his own
ambition. This is why they will never be in heaven and when they die
they will live eternity apart from God. Jesus will not recognize them
as His because they made Him into something else and taught a lie.
This false religion is leading people away from the true God and His
true Son who is our Savior. They will be held accountable by the
True God and His Son Jesus for what they are doing.) This false
religion should be avoided at all cost and the truth needs to be told
about what they are doing and the consequences of following them
                and their man made religion.

The Smith Family from which Joseph Smith came were heavily involved in Sorcery and the occult. They practiced a high level of occult magic and He also looked into crystal balls and seeing stones from which he claimed he gained prophetic knowledge.

He also scammed people out of money by claiming that he could find buried treasure and demanded payment for his skills, though they were really not true and He was ultimately convicted of being a con man and a thief and was put in prison.

He also claimed he was a descendant of Jesus which is crazy, and as such He would judge the apostate Mormons and also His blood could atone for their sins.
He was also a Freemason - which is an anti-christian belief and He believed every other church was apostate since it did not conform to the LDS beliefs, and was told by Moroni that they were not the true church and had forsaken their faith, which is a lie to make everyone who followed Him stay faithful to his manmade religion.
He also demanded that every Mormon had to have more than one wife - polygamy, and in keeping with that He would take other men’s wives as His own. He would simply see a woman he was attracted to and simply tell her that she was now his and her marriage to the man she was with was then destroyed.
He also taught that anyone who did not adhere to this belief was damned in the Mormon church. This man also believed He was the Savior and should be worshipped as such. He also was the one who claimed that all Mormons would be Gods upon their death and resurrection, which is a lie, much like the lie told to Adam and Eve that brought about the mess we are in and God finally had to send His Son to correct.
This is so absurd as to not be even debatable. They will not be Gods. They will be separated from the living God because the Jesus they teach is not the real one and is a fabrication dreamed up in the mind of a warped man who was bound and determined to make a religion that was of His own making and one that He could rule and demand adherence to. He has lead more people away from God than to God and this false religion continues to do so to this day. This false religion is taking people out of the kingdom and separating them from the hope of Christ and His clear declaration that He and He alone can save us, and anyone else that we choose to follow cannot give us life eternal without sin and with Him! Joseph Smith was a charlatan and a con-man. Nothing about him was real and legitimate. He was known far and wide as a man who could not be trusted and who was deceiving people all the time, and in many ways. His idea of having a vision is also his own declaration and no where is there real evidence of this. He made it up!

Mormonism is not Christian. It is a false religion built around a man who was not to be trusted and ultimately was jailed and killed because of his unlawful practices. Joseph Smith was shot by some of his own followers as he tried to escape from prison and died in the dirt outside of the prison where he had been held. He died never having accomplished His goal of seeing all men become Mormon. He died in shame and knowing he had deceived and deluded many with his false religion, but the prophets that followed continued his legacy of teaching a false religion and a false doctrine and are still leading people into darkness rather than the light of truth.

Paul addressed this very issue in Galatians

Ga 1:8* But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
Ga 1:9* As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to that which you received, let him be accursed.

As Christians we have an obligation to tell the Truth and always point out falsehood when it is seen. We have the true Gospel and we have what the world needs and we  should be serious about making sure people aren’t drawn in by false teachings and false religions. We can bring them to the real Savior and out of darkness. We must! We have no choice - we are bound by what we know to be True to expose lies and make people see the real God and the real story of love and salvation.

In the Mormon version of the bible - The book of John begins with these words
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a God.” The problem with this translation is this:

In the Hebrew language, which the Book of John was originally written in, there is no indefinite article ‘a’. This was inserted by Joseph Smith to justify His teaching that the Mormons would all be Gods and have their own universe and their own planet to rule over. This was a carry over of His belief and teaching that God was once a man who by His good works became a God and created all of this. This translation by Joseph Smith and now the prophets that have followed is only there to perpetrate their false belief that we can all be Gods.

This false teaching will keep people out of heaven and will only serve to keep them separated from God in eternity. They will never be Gods, and they will not rule over anything. They will spend eternity knowing that they could have had a real relationship with a living and eternal God, only to find out they will forever be able to and they will never rule over anything. They will be separated from God’s love and His forgiveness and His righteousness because they believed a false doctrine and followed a teaching that only enslaved them to a wrong belief that will never be fulfilled.

God has made it clear in Scripture that He is the only true God and there is no other. He is the object of our faith and love and anything else we worship - false deities and religions, will only keep us separated from Him and His Son and the eternal life He offers.

God is all about the Truth. Jesus was the Truth embodied and He came to testify to the Truth. As believers we must never let down our guard and we must stand for what we know is the Truth and what we know is real Christianity and Salvation. We must do this so that we can help those who would be drawn into false religions and doctrines would see the light and choose to follow the one and only True and living God. Jesus is everything and He is the only one who can save us. He is the answer to man’s problems and sin. He is the True light that came into the world and He is the one who by His work on the cross has made a way for us to be reconciled to the living God. He is the King. He rules and we serve Him. It is never about attaining something for myself by good works and somehow believing that I can be a God. I won’t ever be anything more than I am - a man who will one day stand before my Savior in glory and give all the glory to Him because of what He did for me to have life eternal and abundant.

Mormon doctrines and precepts are all built on a fabrication that Joseph Smith conjured up to provide himself a religion that he could rule over and hold people to with Him as the leader, prophet and founder. It is all built on the unreal belief that he was visited by angles that lead him to some golden plates that he deciphered using the seeing stones -  Urim and Thummim. After deciphering the plates he decided to make another religion which he could follow and get others to follow and in doing so lead them out of the true Gospel of Christ into his own gospel with himself as the founder and center and all the prophets of the Mormon church also at the center. They were the holders and disseminators of truth and are still viewed that way today.

This meant that they rejected the true God and Christ for something else that Joseph Smith, Jr. dreamed up so as to create his own church and hold people to faith in him and his teachings.

There is nothing in the Mormon religion that is worth believing and following. It will lead people away from true salvation and true sanctification, and true faith in the one and only living God and His Son Jesus Christ. In addition, it will not provide eternal life. Only faith in the work of Christ on the cross and His ongoing work of making us new and in His image can give eternal life in the presence of God and His Son.

Polygamy is wrong. God made it very clear that we are to have but one wife and once we are in heaven there is no giving or taking in marriage. We will live in His glorious light and we will serve Him and Him only and we will do so forever. I will never have my own kingdom, or my own planet. I will serve the risen Christ and His Father and will worship them for eternity because they and they alone are worthy of that. My life in heaven is totally dependent on them and no one else and I am forever in submission to Christ as the one who gave me life and did so at a very high price. I will not rule over anything, I will serve Him  and Him alone.

When I have encountered Mormon Missionaries at my front door I have been very clear that I believe in God and Jesus Christ and I have no desire to hear about their faith since I already know they are teaching something that is false and leading people astray into a foreign and non-biblical faith. I also try to communicate the truth of the Scriptures in the hopes of making them see the error of their teaching. It doesn’t always work, but at least I am clearly stating my faith in the real God and His Son. I always hope it will make them think about what they are doing and teaching and believing. Even though it doesn’t always work, I can stand firm in my conviction that I told the truth and that God knows I did. I will know that I testified to the truth of God’s word and even if it didn’t persuade them to think differently, I can rest in the knowledge that I stood for what I believe and didn’t let anyone sway me in the convictions of my faith.

They need to hear the truth so that they might begin to question the false teachings they have swallowed and hold to. They are deceived and don’t know it unless someone has the courage to tell them the truth about God and what they believe that is false and built on what a conman told them and what continues to be purported to be the truth by men who are no more trustworthy than Joseph Smith.
Their religion is keeping them out of God’s Kingdom and keeping millions enslaved to false doctrine and beliefs that are not based on Biblical truth, but rather on the manmade religion of a conman and a charlatan.

True faith in God begins and ends with Faith in Jesus Christ and no one else. It is only because of Him that I have the life I have and only because of Him that I will live forever in eternity with Him and worship Him as the King of Kings and the Savior of mankind by His death on the cross and His resurrection.

They all say the same things to us but they don’t really believe it. They want us to think that we all believe the same things but the truth is we don’t. They see Jesus and God very differently than we do and because of that they cannot ever know the reality of the life we know. They will only live to serve the Mormon Church - not the risen Christ and His Father who sent Him! They are slaves to their false faith and though they live very good lives, they are never going to experience Heaven in the way we will. Jesus said tin the last days there will be those who come before Him saying

‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
23* “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’

This is what awaits them, because Jesus does not recognize them for teaching something totally against His truth. They will never know His glory or His comfort. They will be destined to spend eternity separated from the Living and Holy God for their false teachings. They will not rule anything and they will know only eternal separation from the One who came to save them but they denied by choosing something else that could never save them and never give them life, forgiveness, and hope, and joy. This is the truth and they need to know it in the hope that they might reconsider their faith and maybe choose to investigate the Mormon teachings in comparison to the true teachings of Jesus and the Scriptures that have guided the Christian church for hundreds of years. Once they do this they may begin to realize the error of Joseph Smith and the current Prophets of the Mormon Church and begin to understand how deceived and manipulated and misguided they are.

It is my hope that they might then choose to investigate the true teachings of Jesus and begin to embrace the true redeemer and Savior Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God who was God who became a man and died for the sins of all mankind so that we could know life in Him and be able to be loved by the God who we offended in our sin, and one day be transported to heaven to live with Him forever, and to worship Him forever and to know God’s glory and live in eternal light and free from guilt and shame and sin and all that comes with it.
This is the true message of Scripture and Mormonism is not teaching that. They are teaching that we will become Gods through faithful adherence to the Mormon doctrines which is ridiculous beyond belief. Jesus Christ is the only way we get to enter into God’s glory and we will live in it forever. There is no other way and we we serve Him and worship Him forever as our King and our God - the only true God. We are forever sealed in Him and we will only live in His presence because of what Jesus did. We will never be Gods and we will never rule anything. We will serve the One who rules and has dominion over all of creation, and all men. I serve a risen Lord and I serve a God who was willing to send His Son as the final sacrifice for the sin of mankind. I serve a Savior who was willing to go to the cross for my sin knowing that it was the only way He would win back that which was lost when man sinned and redeem it all so it could be presented back to His Father whole and complete and righteous. That was why Jesus went to the cross. It was His blood that paid the price for me and His willingness to suffer His Father’s wrath so I never will have to that makes eternal life with God in heaven possible.
The whole of Scripture teaches this very clearly and nothing else. It teaches that we are only righteous because of Jesus’ righteousness and we are only acceptable because Jesus paid the price for our sin, and no one can take that away from us. The evil one can try and accuse us but Jesus stands as our advocate to remind Satan that He paid for it all and there is no accusation that can be brought against those who claim Him as their Lord and Savior because He took it all upon Himself and Paid the price God demanded for sin and because of this I am free from guilt and shame and no accusation can be brought against me because of what Jesus did, and Jesus is always here to remind Satan of that fact. I will never have to be ashamed or have to suffer guilt or condemnation because I have been made complete and holy in Christ.
This is what is missing in Mormonism. They have no teaching like this. They are committed to a religion that is built on achieving Salvation in and of themselves apart from the one who came to fix what was broken and give us back to God complete and holy and righteous in Him. They are committed to the belief that they can become Gods of their own universe and planet and rule it as they see fit. Because they believe this they are also strong in their belief that they can run the world if they become president or vice president or whatever office of political authority they seek. This is why I would never vote for and mormon who would seek an office of political power. Because they believe they are going to be Gods I think they would use their office to act as though they were and would try to subjugate everyone else to their way of thinking.

They should never be given power on earth because they would abuse it for their own selfish ambitions and would treat everyone else as though they were their subjects. They would demand our worship as God and they would use whatever power they were given to make everyone else submit to them and their ideas since they believe they are meant to rule and we are meant to worship them.

They should be stopped before they ever get this power and they should never be allowed to rule anyone else. They are selfish and deluded and deceived in what they believe and it would infiltrate our government and it would reshape everything about what is good about this country. They should never be believed and followed. They should be voted down and be made to see that we will never follow them. They are not what this country needs and they are not what we as Christians should advocate for. They are wrong in every way for holding an office of power. They are wrong to believe that they know what is best and should be allowed to rule us. They are men and women who have no more authority than any of the rest of us. They are simply people who are deceived into believing they have some special authority, when they don’t. They don’t have any more authority than I do and my authority comes from Christ and His Father and I am convicted of that and I will not ever bow to anyone but God and His Son Christ Jesus.
With that in mind, I would tell you that we as believers are burdened with a high calling and that is to tell the truth about God and Jesus and never let anyone else try and tell a different story. We are called of God to be witnesses to the Truth of God’s word - The Bible, and we are to make sure that it is clearly taught and that the world hears the real truth about God and His Son and what God is committed to doing in and with us. We are lights in the darkness and we are the hands and feet of Christ in His absence. We are emissaries in a foreign land and we have the true message of hope and love and forgiveness and freedom from guilt and shame and everything else that sin has burdened us with.
The Truth we share is the only truth that can set men free and allow them to know the Love of God and to experience freedom from guilt and shame and feeling condemned and apart from God. Jesus has made a way for us to come home and know God’s love and mercy and grace, and to live free of guilt and shame and to walk in the newness of life and to know that we are accepted because Jesus paid the price for us. God now looks at us through the righteousness of Christ and we have nothing to hide. God has set us free and we are redeemed and forgiven and nothing can take that away. Mormonism offers none of this. They offer a man
made religion that is going to keep people away from God and personal relationship with jesus Christ. The lie they perpetrate is doing nothing but separating people from the Living and true God who they have replaced with one they made up to fit their need to perpetrate the lie that they will be Gods like Him.
There is no truth to what they teach and there is nothing in their teaching that will set men free from sin and guilt and shame. In fact if you choose to follow what they teach - you will be a slave to Mormonism and constantly trying to perform well enough to be accepted in the Mormon religion. This is salvation by works and as we all know, that will get us nothing.
It is faith in the finished work of Christ that sets us free and saves us. I cannot do anything to atone for my sins, Jesus had to do it for me so I would no longer be separated from God by my sin. I will serve Him forever in eternity and I will worship Him as the one who made it possible for me to live forever apart from my sin. I will stand in His glory, not my own and I will forever worship Him for His sacrifice and for the new life He gave me that I did not deserve, but because He loved me so much and because He wanted to set me free from the penalty of my sin, He was willing to die and suffer Hell for me so I would never have to.

There is nothing in Mormonism that even comes close to this. They are fully brainwashed into believing that they can attain Godliness and righteousness by their good works and by adhering to the Mormon doctrines found in their literature - Pearl of Great Price, The Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible.

These are false teachings that Joseph Smith thought up to perpetuate His own ideas and what He believed were the real truths concerning God and Jesus and his newfound religion. There is nothing in this religion that would lead one into new life as we know it in Jesus Christ. There is nothing in this religion that can set one free from sin and shame and guilt. Everything they teach is actually leading people away from God and into the darkness of Mormonism. It is all about money and power and influence and the strange doctrines that they hold concerning what is a real religion.

They offer nothing of value to someone who is looking for true salvation and a life of meaning and a relationship with Christ. They offer bondage to Mormonism and the false doctrines they teach, and in doing so keep millions away from the truth of Christ and God’s eternal truth and life.

Mormonism is a cult and as such should be avoided at all cost. It is not built on the truth of Christ and God’s gift of salvation through His Son. It is built on the false and misleading teachings of a man who wanted to convince people He was the source of truth when He was nothing more than a con man and a charlatan. Joseph Smith was misguided and deceived and has lead more people away from the truth than anyone else on this planet. He should be rejected and His teachings condemned and shown to be what they really are - lies to perpetuate His own agenda.

For Mercy's Sake Do Something

God displayed mercy - giving us what we don't deserve - in sending His Son to take the punishment for our sin.

As believers we encounter people everyday who are still enslaved to the sin, guilt, shame, and belief that they are unworthy of God's love. They are chained to their past and we have the opportunity to show them the same grace and mercy God showed us.

The greatest gift we can give those who are bound to their sin and guilt and shame is to help them see that they don't have to live that way. We can show grace and mercy and then they can begin to believe that there is someone who loves them inspite of their sin - GOD. Christ's death on the cross was so that God could now love us because the sin was paid for and we are no longer bound to that sin.

The thing we can do is tell them the truth - God took care of their sin and He has set them free in Christ. He sees us through Christ's righteousness and because of that we are no longer sinners, but saints saved by Christ to new life - a life without guilt and shame and hiding and chains. We are new creatures that are made to live out of the reality of who we are in Christ and no longer bound to the shame and the guilt that we have known.

In addition - the Holy Spirit - Christ - lives in us and empowers us to live out of our new reality and to never have to suffer the pain of our sin anymore. We can live in the new life Jesus bought for us and we can face everyday knowing that we are new in Him and nothing can ever change that. We can never be separated from the Love of Christ - it is forever and always and no power on earth or in Heaven can ever change that.

Rom. 8:37-39
37*  But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.
38* For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things
present, nor things to come, nor powers,
39* nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love
of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This is what we have to offer those who are living in bondage to sin and guilt and shame. Mercy demands that we share this and help them see that there is another way to live and Christ made it possible by His death and resurrection.

This is the something we must do - tell the truth and watch God change lives because we were faithful and were bold.

Relationship and Why it is Important

                                                                                      Relationship

God intended us to live out our faith in community. In community we are known and also get to be
in relationship with others who will tell us the truth when we get lost. They will call us back when we
wander away. They will speak into our lives and that investment is how the Body of Christ is supposed to work.
Relationships of commitment are vital to growing in our Christian life and our walk with Jesus.

I can't hide in relationship. I must learn to be vulnerable so people can figure out how to love me
in the midst of my junk. That is the beauty of an environment of grace. It allows us to love each other
no matter what is revealed in the midst of relationship. It allows us to look beyond the junk and choose
to love each other. What if there truly was a place where the worst of us could be known and we would
be loved all the more? What if by choosing to submit - trust others with us and let them minister to us in
the midst of our stuff, and in doing that I got healed and free from the shame, guilt, and hopelessness that
comes with our sin.? Would we not want that? I do! I need it and as I submit to the strengths of those
around me I benefit and God uses it to bring me back into the light and out of my darkness.

Also in relationship, my brothers and sisters can remind me of who they know me to be and who I
really am and then I get healthy and God can use me in my strengths and my gifts are freed to be a benefit
to the body of Christ. We are meant for this. This is how God designed the Body of Christ - the church.
We are to minister to each other and help each other out of our brokenness and shame and guilt and back
into faith and trusting what is true about us. Then we begin to live out of our identity in Christ and trust in
Him and His provision and His ability to free us from our sin and junk, and the whole body benefits and
God is glorified and Christ is honored and blessed by our faith and example to the world of what it is to
live in Christ and out of who He made us to be by His work on the cross.

John 8:3-11 The Woman Caught In Adultery

John 8: 3-11
The Woman Caught in Adultery

This is how Jesus dealt with a sinner and demonstrated what LOVE really is.

3   And the scribes and the Pharisees *brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the midst,
4   They *said to Him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act.
5* “Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?”
6*  And they were saying this, testing Him, in order that they might have grounds for accusing Him.
But Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground.
7*  But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, “He who is without sin among you,
let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”
8    And again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9*  And when they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone,
and the woman, where she was, in the midst.
10* And straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?”
11* And she said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go your way.
From now on sin no more.”

The Pharisees and scribes brought a woman caught in adultery and set her in their midst in front of Jesus, and then they tested Him by quoting the Law of Moses that said such a woman should be stoned. They asked Jesus “What do you say?”. It was a test and an attempt to accuse Him in front of the people. Jesus knows their intent and bends down and draws something on the ground. We don’t know what it was but they watched Him write it, and then He stood up and addressed them - “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” and then wrote again on the ground, again we don’t know what He wrote.

Jesus was showing them what God expects - GRACE and MERCY and LOVE. These are the true currency of God's Kingdom and they will set the sinner free. Punishment and legalistic standards only bind the sinner to guilt and shame and separation from God, and the sinner never knows the freedom of FORGIVENESS and MERCY and GRACE and LOVE which is what God is all about. That is why Christ came was to pay for our sin so God could show GRACE and MERCY and LOVE to the sinner. It also allowed God to set us free from our guilt and shame and bring us back into relationship with our creator and God.

Then the accusers began to leave one by one until all were gone, and Jesus was left alone with the woman where they had set her. Jesus then stands up and says to the woman, “Woman, Where are they? Did no one condemn You? And she said “No one Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go your way. From now on sin no more.”

This is the LOVE of Christ, who knowing her sin, did not condemn her but showed MERCY and LOVE to this woman, and telling her to go and sin no more. This was the power of LOVE and this is what Jesus demands of each of us. LOVE is foremost, and condemnation is of no value. In choosing to demonstrate LOVE he freed this woman from her sin and allowed her to begin to change her life and choose a new path and a new direction. He also made a convert in allowing her to know that He would not condemn her and would LOVE her as only GOD can. We, as those who claim the name of Jesus, the Christ, the Son of the Living God, must learn this lesson and find a way to help people deal with their sin and find HOPE and FORGIVENESS in Jesus Christ. It is our calling and our privilege and our sacred duty. Only then will people see God as He truly is and come to trust Him and put their faith in Him. Brothers and sisters in Christ - be the ones who will choose to LOVE as Christ LOVED and instead of condemning, choose to show MERCY and LOVE and in doing so see people come to a saving faith in Christ who did the same for you and me.
This is our calling and our privilege - to love by showing MERCY and FORGIVENESS and HOPE to those who are struggling in sin and feeling they are worth nothing when in fact they were worth God sending His Son to die for. This is our message and what we have been given by God to do in a world that is lost and falling apart. We must be diligent and courageous and constant in our commitment to represent Christ, be lights, be salt and share our faith and the hope we have in Christ. In doing this we will see people step out of darkness into the light and unburden themselves from their sin and choose to walk in new life a life that Christ gives and we get to be the messengers for. I will do this until my dying breath and I will trust that God sees and uses the seeds I plant to bring people into new and abundant life. Like this woman, people need to be free of condemnation, free of sin, free of accusation and free to live apart from all of these things. THAT IS WHY JESUS DIED AND WHAT WE MUST REPRESENT EVERYDAY.

The Beatitudes Explained

5:1* ¶ And when He saw the multitudes, He went up on the mountain; and after He
sat down, His disciples came to Him.
2* And opening His mouth He began to teach them, saying,
3* ¶ “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
The poor in spirit are blessed because they Know they are poor and need
God and because of that they will inherit the Kingdom.
4* “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Those who mourn will be comforted and in being comforted they
        experience the love of Christ.
5* “Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
Gentle is a translation of meek and the meek (those who don’t make
themselves the issue) will inherit the earth. It is not the strong that survive
but the meek, which is how God’s Kingdom works.
6* “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall
       be satisfied.
The hungering and thirsting for righteousness is the result of the Holy
Spirit living in us and as He indwells us our hunger and thirst are
       satisfied by Him.
7* “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Mercy is everything and as we show mercy we are living out of our new
identity of Christ in us, and God likewise shows us mercy. We must show
mercy and the world needs to see that In Christ I can be merciful as Christ
has been to me. Showing mercy is our calling and God is honored and
glorified as we do this. We must do this. We must demonstrate mercy and
forgiveness and love so they will see Christ in us.
8* “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Only the pure in Heart - those who have been forgiven and repented can
see God. I must never forget this and with every sin I commit I must
confess and repent seek God’s forgiveness. This allows me to know Him
and see Him and experience Him.
9* “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Peacemakers - Of all the things we are called to do this is the highest
calling - to be peacemakers. To bring those in conflict to a place where
they can embrace peace and choose to give up fighting and demanding
and war and hatred and killing. In doing this I am acting as a Son of God.
10* “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of
righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
To be persecuted for the sake of righteousness is to follow Christ to the
cross and suffer for righteousness sake. To do so is be blessed by God
because we are standing up for what is right even though we will suffer. In
doing this I am joining Christ in His sufferings and God is glorified and I am
        blessed.
11* “Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all
kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me.
Jesus is saying that we are blessed when men cast insults and persecute us and
lie about us because of Jesus. Even if they do this, I am still blessed because I
stood up for Christ and He knows it.
12* “Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great, for so they persecuted
the prophets who were before you.
I can rejoice in the persecution knowing that the prophets were persecuted
before me and God sees and God knows and God honors my willingness to be
persecuted for His sake. I must never back down. I must be willing to suffer for
the truth and know that God sees, and honors me for being willing to suffer for the sake of truth
and Him, and what I believe. This is what Jesus called us to - to join in His sufferings.

HIS CALLING

His calling
There is a calling that God has put on the ones He called and made His own by the blood of His Son.
Don’t ever doubt it.
He called me to use my talents and the gifts He gave me. He called me no less than He did the disciples and Paul. I was chosen before the foundation of the world and I am bound by love and humility to fulfill His calling on my life. How could I not give everything to the one who gave everything for me. He is everything to me and as much as I love singing and sharing my journey in front of people, it is for Him and Him alone that I do what I do and I know He knows it, and that is my motivation and the reason I write songs and articles. It is the reason I am writing this book. It is all about Him and what He has done in my life and what He has allowed me to do for so many years. He is my audience and the one who I want to make smile on me. I want Him to know that He is everything and without Him I am nothing. I want Him to be glorified, and on the day when I enter His presence I want Him to know that all the glory I have been given all belongs to Him. I will cast all my crowns at His feet. I will bow before Him - My King, My Savior, The King of Kings. I will try to thank Him for all He did and it will seem so little, but He will know and He will honor me for it. Jesus is “My Everything My All”. He is my hope and the one I follow no matter what. He is the one that comes and finds me when I wander off. He is the one that reminds me that I am His and that He will carry me when I can’t do it on my own. He will see me through the trials of life and He will never leave me or forsake me. His love won’t let Him. He is bound by Love and by the promises He made to me. He is Good, Kind, Gracious, Humble.
Mt 11:30 “For My yoke is easy, and My load is light.
I am still bound to this calling. I still have the the yearning inside of me to fulfill what He gave me to do. I feel it everyday and I cannot escape it. It is His calling and as I submit myself to Him and continue to give expression to it in writing songs, and leading worship, and writing my thoughts, He will continue to work to open doors for me and to make my desire a reality. He never stops. He will continue until His work is done and He will accomplish what He began in me and in you and everyone who will humble themselves before Him. Our God is greater and more powerful and more loving than anything we can imagine. He is the creator of everything we see. He is the creator of us and He is the one who will redeem His fallen creation and make it new again. He can do all these things and He will do all these things. That is the God I follow and serve and who I gave my life to. I am bound to Him by love. I love Him because He first loved me. He set me free and made me His child. I am a joint Heir with Christ.
I know, I can preach, but understand, this is the truth and I am convicted to share it. Please understand that this whole book is about Him. It is about His work in and with me. It is about what He called all of us to. It is about our being lights to the world and bearers of His truth and His image. It is about how God allowed me to be used by and for Him. You can understand why I would focus so much on Him. It’s all about Him

Jesus, the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

WHAT I AM THANKFUL FOR

I am so thankful that God allowed me so many years of ministry to so many people.

I am thankful for His continued blessing and His faithfulness in my life as I move into what is next for me. I am thankful for His continued work in making me into the image of His Son, and the opportunities to continue using my gifts and talents for Him and His kingdom. I am thankful for every new song I write - which is His work in me to remind me what I was made to do. I am thankful for my family, my friends and all who have shared with me how much my ministry has meant to them and I am thankful for God never giving up on me and opening doors and reminding me who I am and what I have in Christ. I am blessed beyond my wildest dreams.

I am thankful that I am free of the burden of running a church and free to begin to rebuild my ministry and to see if there are opportunities out there for me to do what I did for so many years again. That would be my greatest dream, and other things that God might have me do to further His Kingdom and to further the work of sharing Christ.

I am also thankful for all the years I got to minister in and serve Open Door Fellowship, and to lead the amazing people I got to do ministry with.  I am so grateful that I was allowed to lead that amazing church and I am thrilled that it is now being led by someone else and God is doing great things there and I will always cherish the time I was allowed to lead them,  and I will always remember that God did use me most of the time even though there were some times when I was not as effective as I had wanted to be. But God also knew when enough was enough and used the elders to free me and to allow me to begin to heal and renew and remember. What a blessing that has been as I have been on the journey of rediscovery and renewal. It is all God’s providence and I am so thankful that I have had this time to remember, write a book, and rediscover me and my heart for His work. That is a gift beyond measure.

My God Is GOOD! He knows me and exactly what I need and He makes a way where I can’t see a way. He also reminds me with every step that it is in His power and in His grace and in His righteousness that I live a breath and move and have my being. It is all about Him! I must never forget that and neither should you. Apart from God I can do nothing, but with Him all things are possible. I am living proof of that and even now I am being reminded that it is still true and my life is in Him and He in me.

There is no other way to live. I will forever worship Him who died for me so that I could have life forever and be acceptable to His Father. Jesus paid it all, and I owe everything to Him. Every breath I take, every solitary heartbeat, every second of my life I owe to Him. There is no one like Him and He stands alone as the Savior of mankind and His creation. His death paid for sin and His resurrection defeated death for all who believe. His Spirit animates me and makes me alive and real and allows me to dream and hope and rest assured that one day He will get me home. On that day I will see His face and I will thank Him for His gift of life and forgiveness and grace. I will forever worship Him in Heaven, and enjoy His presence and live in the light of His glory as I will be made new and whole and substantial enough to be able to look on His glory and not die. I will be complete and I will see my family that has gone before me and I will bask in His eternal light forever and see the universe the way He sees it with eyes that can see what He sees, because I will have a glorified body and will enjoy Heaven with nothing to stand between me and the reality of His Kingdom. There is no greater hope and I long for the day when I am home, but until that day I will sing His Praise and I will look for His return to take His bride home.

For By Grace You Have Been Saved

For by Grace You Have Been Saved

Years ago I was in Texas to lead worship for a retreat. The topic was ‘Environments and Relationships of Grace’ and I spoke at one of the sessions. I have included some of my thoughts here for you to contemplate. Grace has been described in various ways:
- the unmerited favor of God.
- undeserved love
- Gods Riches At Christ’s Expense
- Grace is God’s giving us what we don’t deserve and mercy is God’s not giving us what we do deserve.
I am sure that you could add a lot more of these succinct attempts at giving definition to the concept of Grace. The thoughts that I want to give here have more to do with the outworking of grace in our lives.

Grace sets us free - it never binds us to something
One of the most crucial hindrances to Grace that Paul and the early church had to deal with was the continual attempt by some to impose restrictions and conditions on grace. It continues until today. Legalism is all around us and robs us of a relationship with Christ.
Paul fought this at every turn. He understood that to make the focus our sin would only empower the sin. Grace focuses on Christ and His gift of life. To focus on that takes away the power of sin and empowers the new life that is in us because of the Holy Spirit that indwells us. Grace allows us the freedom to come as we are and believe that Christ within us will change us.
Legalism binds us to rules and regulations and makes us responsible to deal with all that is wrong with us. We never could could fix ourselves.  It was precisely because we couldn’t be good that He had to come. It is His goodness and righteousness that I live in now. In an environment of Grace I am changed by Christ, not by my own effort.

Grace provides a safe place
Grace provides an environment of safety. I can reveal my weaknesses and struggles and not have to defend myself anymore. I am free to try and to fail, and my failure not change how am viewed or whether I am acceptable to God. I can be vulnerable. When we are not in environments of Grace we will hide and keep our weaknesses and our sin hidden and in the darkness they grow and fester and drain us of life. Jesus was a safe place. He saw men for who they were. He knew the sinners and He ate with them and liked being with them. He wanted them to know they were welcome. The ones who had to fear Jesus were the self righteous men who would bind others with rules and regulations, and in doing so enslave them rather than setting them free.
I must ask myself - am I a safe place for people to deal with the issues of their lives and know that they are accepted because of Christ and the issue not be their performance.
This does not mean we ignore blatant sin or that we not confront sin, but rather that we not make sin the primary focus, and demand behavioral change rather than a heart change. Jesus and His unconditional love must be the primary focus.
This leads into the next thought -

Grace looks beyond fault and sees need
God hates sin but He loves the sinner. We should take a lesson. I can’t say it any better than this - God demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Rom. 5:8 While we were sinning, Christ looked beyond the sin and saw the need. He didn’t come to condemn but to save. His motive was salvation and restoration.
Grace provides protection
In relationships of grace we must choose to protect each others weaknesses and submit to each others strengths. Too often we see people fail in an area of weakness and the just write them off because they failed. (We set pastors up for failure all the time because we expect them to be supermen who have all the gifts of the spirit in equal measure and when they don’t do certain things well we criticize and demean them for their lack and then wonder why they are ineffective). That is an indictment on us rather than them. We should protect them in those areas of weakness by surrounding them with people who can bring to bear their strengths. Then both are being used effectively and the work of God gets done and God is glorified in the body functioning effectively. When I am in an environment of grace where I can reveal my weaknesses and know I am protected, it allows God to work in and through me unhindered.

Grace provides Hope
It only makes sense that when we are operating in an environment of bondage and performance that we would become disillusioned, burnt out and wander off into the wilderness to take a back seat and not be used. How many people do you know who are in that place. They started out well but soon faded into the woodwork because they were not able to live up to the legalistic standards that are placed on them. Legalism robs us of hope! Grace provides us an atmosphere where hope flourishes because it is not us but rather Christ in us. Acts 17:28 “for in Him we live and move and exist.”

Grace is the environment God has created in which He works to fashion us in the image of His Son Jesus Christ.
